Growing Produce features VacCAP update

The January 2022 issue of the trade publication, Growing Produce, featured an update on the VacCAP project, officially know as, “Vaccinium CAP: Leveraging genetic and genomic resources to enable development of improved blueberry and cranberry cultivars to growers and consumers.” The article outlines the goals of the project and reports on findings so far. Massimo Iorizzo, lead PI, is quoted, ““We’re starting to understand the genetics of some fruit quality traits, which is new. For the first time, DNA markers were associated with pH, titratable acidity, and soluble solid content in blueberry.”
